Review an AI drift finding against dated product evidence

An AI comparison model receives the published paused-sync statement and approved current-release UI evidence. It proposes a discrepancy with both passages and their versions: Restart sync versus Resume sync. The product owner confirms applicability, a writer corrects the maintained procedure, and a tester verifies the next run before support uses it.

Prerequisites and scope

The AI drift model needs versioned statements and approved dated evidence for the same task scope. Start with the paused-sync topic, current UI labels, release identifiers, stable topic IDs, and a named product reviewer.

The working sequence

The AI step compares meaning between a versioned published instruction and dated product evidence. Mapping identifies the passages; owners confirm the discrepancy and people verify the corrected procedure in the product.

Map the claim

Content team: The content team marks the action, UI label, conditions, and escalation branch in the sync procedure. A topic-to-feature relationship identifies which statements a sync change can affect.

Depends on: Product engineering supplies the approved current behavior and release evidence. A simple traceability table is enough at pilot scale; a knowledge graph becomes useful when many features, versions, topics, and channels share the same claims.

Detect and verify

Content team: The AI comparison model proposes: “Restart sync in the procedure conflicts with Resume sync in the dated current-release UI evidence.” It retains both passages, release scope, and uncertainty. Writers triage duplicates and record the exact passage.

Depends on: A product owner confirms whether Resume sync replaced Restart sync for the stated timeout condition. The model’s semantic comparison identifies a candidate discrepancy; product-owner review establishes whether it changes the task.

Correct and publish

Content team: The writer updates the step, preserves the older-version guidance where still needed, and adds a testable escalation condition. A reviewer checks the procedure against the current UI before publication.

Depends on: The publishing system must carry version and approval metadata into search and assistant indexes. If an index cannot be refreshed, hold the answer route or surface its stale status.

Validation and exceptions

Re-run the AI comparison against the corrected procedure and retained evidence; the confirmed label mismatch should disappear while a seeded stale statement is still detected. Then test Resume sync and next-run completion. A disagreement between UI and release notes remains a product-owner decision.

If the UI and release note disagree, pause the correction and open a product decision. If a customer is on an older release, route them to that version rather than overwriting its valid instruction. Keep rejected alerts with reasons so the monitor can be tuned without hiding future changes.

Keep it current

Run checks after relevant product changes and on a scheduled sample of high-impact topics. Retire obsolete version links, recheck derived support macros and assistant sources, and review false-positive patterns with engineering.

Evidence of progress

For the proposed test, retain the model, prompt, source/evidence snapshots, and finding passages. Include unchanged paraphrases and older-release instructions as negative cases; adjudicate both missed drift and false alerts. Test the same version-specific support questions and actual next-run completion before comparing equivalent sync-contact costs.

Record confirmed mismatches for Verified drift rate, dated finding and publication events for Detection-to-correction time, and fixed version-specific questions for Task answer accuracy. Compare Cost to serve only for the same sync-contact category and account for product and staffing changes.

These are proposed measures for the illustrative workflow. A business result needs observed, comparable operating data and a review of other causes.
